Is this is a 2 way up
and down link from satellite. Is that correct?
The satellite connection is in both directions. The service is
through the dish receiver and transmitter. The Satellite signal
runs through a modem, supporting both uploads and downloads, that
is connected to your computer.
I am under the impression that this can also be installed in
a vehicle and will automatically find the satellite?
Yes, this is true. It is possible to install the unit in a car.
The dish sits on the roof and as you drive the dish folds down into
a flat position. When the mobile satellite unit is on it will automatically
locate the satellite, but this is not designed for service while
on the move.
I know about auto locators but can it react fast enough to work
while a car is moving?
This is not a solution for moving vehicles. When you arrive at
your destination you turn the unit on and it will position itself
to receive from the satellite such as Galaxy XI.
What size is the equipment?
The unit that is sufficient for most areas is the .74 meter dish.
But there are other sizes such as .95 and 1.2 meter. Your expected
area of travel will dictate the size of dish you will need.
Is this new dish technology or is it the same pizza dish that
we use for TV?
This dish is a new technology. It has the capability to compress
down for easy and more aerodynamic travel. Once you reach you destination,
and turn the unit on, it automatically folds up for positioning
to the satellite.
What is the band width?
Allows users to download Internet content starting at an average
speed of 400kbps, peaking as high as 1.2MB. Upload speed range from
128kbps to 256kbps.
